About transportation in Amorgos island, Greece

Despite the small size of the island, Amorgos is quite well-organized in terms of transportation serving the most important areas of the island. There is frequent bus services during the summer between Katapola and Chora, the capital of Amorgos where visitors can admire the unspoilt beauty and the natural environment of this island. There is another bus service between Aegiali and Katapola which is equally interesting.

There are frequent itineraries to the world-famous monastery of Panagia Hozoviotissa which is located near Chora. The bus will take you up to a certain point and then visitors can walk the stunning paths to reach the monastery. Taxis are also available and follow any routes along the island. Car and Motorbike rental shops can be found in Katapola and in Ormos (in Aegiali). Petrol stations exist on the road linking Katapola, Hora and Aegiali.

Either on foot, bus and with private vehicle, the island of Amorgos is a stunning destination waiting to be explored. While it is rocky and mountainous, it is ideal for the nature lovers who will admire some of the most breathtaking views in Greece.
