The Archaeological Collection of Amorgos is housed in the magnificent 16th century Venetian style building located in one of Hora’s central streets.
This gentry’s house is one of the few in Amorgos and was the home of the famous merchant family Gavras.
The Collection consists of a huge range of antiquities, from the Bronze Age to the end of the ancient world.

Prehistoric finds are also exhibited on the ground floor where one can admire the Scholar Ioannides private collection of ancient objects.
On the first floor are exposed sculptures, tomb relief and works |

of art dating from the Historic period.
