Location: In the centre of the Island
Description: Chora is a picturesque village built in the medieval times on top of a hill. It is surrounded by old windmills and is crossed by numerous narrow streets.

Location:
Above Chora village
Description: The Castle on the rock above Chora town was built in the Venetian times. A few old and interesting churches are preserved within the castle walls.

Location:
On the north side of Amorgos
Description: Aegiali is a popular village which constitutes of three settlements. It contains many accomodation options and tourist facilities.

Location:
About 10 km from Chora town
Description: Katapola beach is a beautiful natural harbour which streches through three settlements. It gets very popular in summer with boats that come to moor there.

Location:
About 3 km from Chora town, close to the Monastery of Panagia Hozoviotissa
Description: Agia Anna is a small, pebbled beach surrounded by huge rocks. This is where scenes from the movie "The Big Blue" were shooted.

About 3 km to the north east of Chora
Description: This impressive Monastery was built in the 11th century and is dedicated to the Virgin Mary. It is the trademark of Amorgos island.

:: The Hellenistic Tower of Arkesini

Location:
Near Arkesini village
Description: This tower was built in the 4th centrury B.C. and is today half-ruined. It used to protect the population of the area from enemies and pirates.

:: The Ancient Minoan Settlement

Location:
On a hill above Katapola village
Description: Archaeological excavations have revealed the ruins of an ancient Minoan civilization. There is a sacntuary, ruins from ancient walls and some buildings.

:: The Acropolis of Ancient Aegiali

Location:
Near Thollaria village, on the north side of Amorgos
Description: The Acropolis of Ancient Aegialis is also called Vigla. This is where the largest sculpture of the Cycladic Age was found.

:: The church of Panagia Katapoliani

Location:
In Katapola village, 6 km from Chora
Description: This church is the oldest church of Amorgos. It was built on the site of an early Christian church, which in turn had been built on the site of an ancient temple to god Apollo.

Description: The water of this spring is of exceptional quality flowing through an ancient conduit and reaching the Katapola faucet, which is of Venetian heritage.

:: Trekking in Amorgos

Description:
Amorgos is quite a mountainous island and therefore its landscape is ideal for trekkers. In fact, there are some old moderate trekking paths, such as the path from Chora to Aegiali and the path Chora-Profitis Ilias-Panagia Hozoviotissa-Chora.
