As much as I love Crete from the people to their whole way of life, I have to say that Rethymnon Town is definitely the winner. I was there two years ago visiting a friend, I stayed for a week only to realize that this is the perfect place to stay. The town is loud, actually vibrant is the right... More >
My origin is from Anogia, a great village in Rethymno. I can easily write a thousand things about this place but I'll have to keep it short. Anogia is a traditional, charming village with a powerful and rich history. The route will amaze you as you cross the villages and the winding roads. The air... More >

The area of Rethymno is more quiet and traditional than Chania or Heraklion. We spent four days in Agia Galini last year, on our tour around Crete. This is a small fishing village actually but it has developed in tourism: a lot of rooms to rent, hotels, organized beaches, gift shops, but still not... More >

If we hadn't rented a car, it would be very difficult to go to Agia Galini. We rented a car from the airport of Chania and it took us many, many hours to go to Agia Galini, about 4-5 hours (we even got lost on our way and took us even longer!). The good thing is that we passed through nice villages... More >

I love Rethymnon town. It is easy to find your way around, lots of shops and historical interests. The down side was having to pay an extortionate amount to park my car in the City. The food in the hotel was not good, I had paid extra per day for either lunch or dinner and it was not nearly worth... More >
We were in the right place at the right time: The last weekend in September at Plakias where we were treated to an evening of culture with food and drink that was provided by the village people. Many thanks for a memorable... More >
Agia Galini

It was quite difficult to reach this village, because we arrived in Heraklion airport, rented a car from there and drove to the south of Crete, where Agia Galini is. However, we lost our way many times for lack of signs. If you try the same way, make sure you have a map with you. The village itself... More >
