Crete my first love

Crete was my first Greek island I visited. I remember that already at the airport when I just got off the plane, I knew that it landed in a right place. The road from Heraklion to Adelianos Kampos (because that's where our hotel was) was a series of ever new delight. These views, they passed along... More >

We didn't stay more than a week in Rethymno but I was lucky enough to visit some of the greatest beaches in Crete. One of them is Preveli beach, a unique sandy beach covered with a palm forest that makes it look so exotic. The most interesting thing about the beach is that a river ends there. This... More >

Panormos in July was very crowded, but I think it would get more crowded... More >

I believe if you are close to a big town, then you are sure to have more facilities on your holidays, than if you were km far away from it. Also you are more close to... More >
It gets quiet windy
Category: Rethymno Perivolia Posted by richardjck Rate: Views: 1015 47 people found this review useful
Perivolia is actually a small cove of the large beach of Rethymnon town. It was very windy when we went, in the evening as the locals told us that it usually gets windy after 3 or 4 o'clock in the afternoon. You will find nice taverns along Perivolia and many sun beds to lay on.... More >
Panormos has many umbrellas and sun beds. I particularly liked to go swim in the evening because it was less crowded. In the daytime, the beach was full of children running all around and screaming and teenegers trying to get a cold drink from the beach bar. But in the evening children would go to... More >
