Rethymno Villages: Argiroupolis village in Rethymno Rethymno Argiroupolis: The traditional and picturesque village of Argiroupolis is built on the site of ancient Lappa and is one of the most beautiful villages of Crete. It is surrounded by a rich and verdant vegetation made of huge trees and wild plants, and adorned by waterfalls pouring crystalline waters. The village is 27 kilometres south-west of the city of Rethymno and has 700 inhabitants who are mostly farmers and stockbreeders. It is located at an altitude of 260 metres, between the rivers Mousselas and Petres. A police station, a gas station and a post office can be found in this idyllic village as well as a few accommodations and excellent taverns where visitors can enjoy traditional Cretan specialities and milk products of high quality and taste.
