If we hadn't rented a car, it would be very difficult to go to Agia Galini. We rented a car from the airport of Chania and it took us many, many hours to go to Agia Galini, about 4-5 hours (we even got lost on our way and took us even longer!). The good thing is that we passed through nice villages and saw some true Cretan landscape.
Agia Galini was a nice place with clean beaches around it. It was calm and quiet, just like we wanted our vacations to be. Along the port, there were traditional fish taverns with good prices. As we had the car, we could go for excursions in the area. nice places to go are Plakias on the west and Platanos on the east. A nice village is also Anogia, about an hour from Agia Galini (we found it by chance, because we had again go lost, maybe you should put some signs, guys!). People in Anogia are very nice and I bought a nice table cloth from them. I have it now on my dining table to remember those nice days in Crete.
