The area of Rethymno is more quiet and traditional than Chania or Heraklion. We spent four days in Agia Galini last year, on our tour around Crete. If we hadn't rented a car, it would be very difficult to go to Agia Galini. We rented a car from the airport of Chania and it took us many, many hours to go to Agia Galini, about 4-5 hours (we even got lost on our way and took us even longer!). It was quite difficult to reach this village, because we arrived in Heraklion airport, rented a car from there and drove to the south of Crete, where Agia Galini is.
