I had a wonderful trip! Perfect in everything! Crete is a fantastic island, where you can find everything you desire for a holiday: relax, amazing landscape, wonderful sea, equiped beach, night life or romantic evening...and the food? gorgeous. Take the lodge in Rethymno is the better choice, because the city is near the most beautful Crete's beaches, is near the main road and the city...is amazing! In Rethymno you can find all do you want, and the beauty of the town is indescribable!! Plan in advance the places they want to visit because Crete is a very big island and it's impossible to visit all! I suggest the beaches around Rethymno and also try the inland with the beautiful and small villages. Some people there are still not much familiar with tourists and may look strangely at you sometimes, but don't worry, they are no dangerous at all. Eat in small taverns in the mountains, this is where you find real Cretan food, not in the tourist places.
