Rethymno Platanias: Platanias beach is located about 4 kilometers to the east of Rethymno town. It is a beautiful, sandy beach, open to the north. The beach is thus affected by summer winds. Access from Rethymno is possible by public buses that provide frequent services.
Platanias beach is well organized and offers many accommodation options. The beach has several Greek taverns that offer local food, drinks and the chance to enjoy yourself by the seaside.
