Perivolia beach is located about 2 kilometers from Rethymno at the east. Perivolia beach is one of the most important beaches in the Mediterranean Sea. This long strech of sandy beach is actually part of the long beach of Rethymno. It is open on the north side and is exposed to the "meltemia", which are the northern summer winds.

The beach is quite well organized and it has hotels and other accommodation in front of the beach itself. Plenty of entertainment, food and drinking options are available at the beach. Nightlife bars also abound in this area and you will find facilities for swimming, sea sports and sun-bathing (umbrellas and sun beds). You could access the beach from Rethymno by taxi, public bus, rental cars or motorbikes. A better alternative could be walking it up from the city center to the beach.
