The photo exhibition Land Ends of Pavlos Fisakis will be presented from today in the newly-established Museum of Modern Art of Crete in Rethymnon, as part of the PhotoBiennale 2010.
This exhibition constitutes a special photo journey in the four corners of Europe: Gavdos (a small island south of Crete), the North Cape (Norway), the Ural Mountains (Russia) and Sintra (Portugal). This photo journey is actually a quest for the boundaries and the identity of Europe.
Trying to figure out the definition of the european identity, the photographer Pavlos Fisakis started his first journey in Gavdos in December 2006 and returned from his last journey in Sintra in February 2008. His photos impress the feelings of people who chose o stay or decided to remains in these four places.
Taking pictures of simple yet impressive buildings, the natural scenery or people, the photo lens presents places that are rarely visited by tourists, trying to figure out the similarities and differences of the Europeans.
The exhibition will be presented till December 20th.
