General Information:
To Spitaki, which means the Little House, in Greek is a tiny cafe-restaurant located at the end of a narrow lane just off the main shopping street of Arkadiou in Rethymno. Run by a young couple, whose enthusiasm is reflected in the cheery decoration, the restaurant offers an excellent selection of well-cooked dishes.
What makes the place unique is that all the work, from the interior to the actual cooking is done by two people. Every day, there is a board on the pavement which announces the day's specials. Meat and fish platters are available in two different sizes to match your appetite, and each comes with a variety of finger foods and a Cretan salad. There are also drinks, like daiquiris, fresh homemade lemonade, pies and cakes for those who want to skip a proper meal.
