Opened in 1967 by Perakakis family, Erotokritos is located next to the sea, at the old Venetian port of Rethymnon Town. The name of the restaurant comes from the 16th century romantic epic poem "Erotokritos", a classic example of the Greek renaissance literature. Erotokritos distinguishes for the unique flavors of traditional Greek and Cretan cuisine that make a special dining experience. It offers a spectacular view to the port and the old lighthouse. The dining area is classy and luxurious. The tavern has hosted many celebrities and has gained great popularity due to the delicious Cretan dishes and the product quality.
