Crete Milatos Lassithi: Located at a distance of 30 km north west of Agios Nikolaos, Milatos is a lovely village that belongs to the wider tourist region of Sissi-Malia, however it remains much more peaceful and traditional that these two villages.

The village of Milatos is surrounded by green cliffsides. A lovely beach is found at a couple of km from the village with seaside fish taverns.

Close to the village, there is the historical cave of Milatos where 2,000 Greek people were sheltered by the Turks in 1823. The Greek residents of Milatos had found shelter there against the Turkish troops, but someone betrayed their location and the Turks killed them after a siege of 15 days. The cave is today open for visit and has a small church inside.
