Minos Winery Museum in Crete: Miliarakis Winery is located in Peza village, 17 km south of Heraklion and 5 km from the Minoan wine-press. The history begins when the family started to produce wine for the travelers who passed by the area on their way to southern Greece. However, in 1932, Miliarakis becomes one of the best wine production units in Crete wine-making units in Heraklion, an area famous for its delicious wines. They became the first company in Crete to make bottled wine in 1952 and by the 1960s, France was their largest importer apart from their distribution to North America, Asia, and Australia.

Today the winery produces nearly 900,000 bottles per year. The winery includes an auditorium for audio/visual presentations, a public tasting room, a museum including an exhibition of old winery machines, as well as an old stone-made wine press and a gift shop.
