Heraklion Komos beach

General information

Komos Heraklion: Komos is a relaxing, undeveloped beach located 67 km south west of Heraklion Town. It is a fine stretch of sand lined, not very crowded due to the lack of facilities. The seashore though is ideal for sunbathing and the waters are clean and shallow.

Komos beach is surrounded by high rocks and some greenery. The view is excellent especially from the top of the rocks, with the peninsula stretching into the sea on the sides and the black rock of Volakas.

If you want to find any hotels or taverns and some water sports, just walk to the south, to the beach of Matala, which is a highly developed tourist resort. Komos can be reached by car or motorbike.
