General Information:
The center is located in the popular tourist resort of Ammoudara, within the open bay of Heraklion in Crete. The resort lays itself bare to the full force of the thermal winds (meltemi) which starts blowing in at forenoon and begins to pound the island by afternoon. Declared one of the windiest spots in Crete, the resort sets the perfect stage for wind surfing and other water sports, and is frequented by surfing aficionados from all over the world. The surf club has been in operation for over three decades and is finely tuned to even the smallest needs of a holiday maker. An extremely courteous staff and a highly experienced team of multilingual instructors provide top tuitions for all levels, right from novices to the advanced. The club also offers a host of other adrenaline-pumping activities designed to fulfill the wildest dreams of an adventure sport buff. Jet ski safaris, canoeing, parachuting, waterskiing, pedal boat, rings and banana provide enough excitement to give both adults and children a great holiday experience, that make them want to keep coming back for more. To the east of the 7km- long sandy beach, is a spot for kite surfing, and every year, the club plays host to a number of surfing competitions. The club also boasts a good range of equipments from JP-Australia sails from NeilPryde. Accommodation needs for the surfers are served by spacious apartments, located right in front of the beach. A restaurant-bar right on the beach, offers a lavish spread of traditional dishes and cocktails, and for those looking for some fun after an exciting day in the water, the town has plenty to offer.
