Flights to Crete

Crete has two international airports. The largest is located in Heraklion and the second largest is in Chania. There is also a small domestic airport in Sitia, Lassithi. Sitia airport runs frequent flights between the Greek islands with the Greek charter company, Sky Express.

Heraklion and Chania airports offer regular flights from Athens (both trips take about 45 minutes). There are also direct flights to Thessaloniki and the trip takes about 1 hour and a half. In summer, there are also charter flights to other internal airports of Greece and the Greek islands.

Apart from domestic flights, these airports also receive frequent charter flights from abroad. In particular, the low-cost air company Easy Jet operates flights from European cities to the airports of Chania and Heraklion.

Urban buses and taxis are running out of the terminals, linking them to the main towns of Crete. Many car agencies also have their office at the airports of Chania and Heraklion so you may rent cars and motorbikes from there.
