Chania Epanochori

General information

Epanochori is a lovely village located 45 km southwest of Chania Town. Built at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level, it affords stunning views of the White Mountains and the Libyan Sea.

It is very close to the gorge of Agia Irini, where you can see the 13th-century churches of Agios Georgios and the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ. The village consists of traditional stone-built houses springing up amidst a verdant setting of cypresses and plane trees.

Close to Epanochori lies the traditional village of Prases, in an area of lush olive groves, chestnuts and fir trees.
