Venetian Shipyards (Arsenals) in Chania: One of Chania’s most enduring landmarks is the 16th century Venetian shipyard. It is known for its historical vaulted buildings. The buildings of this area were purposely constructed for ship building which flourished in Chania in the 16th century. The Venetian shipyards are located to the right of the Chania harbor and you can still find the fishing vessels that are anchored here.
