Chania Beaches: West beach in Chania Greece The sandy coastline west of Chania stretches for many kilometres, forming various beautiful sandy beaches with crystalline waters. Here visitors will find the wonderful beaches of Platanias, Glaros, Kalamaki, Stalos and Agia Marina forming one vast beach with soft golden sand. The great beauty of those places has turned this part of the coast the main touristy spot of western Crete. They have all the touristy facilities needed such as sun beds, umbrellas, snack bars and water sports. A long succession of accommodations of all categories, bras, tourist shops and restaurants are located in the resorts behind the beaches, as each beach has its own resort having the same name. Due to their extreme popularity, all those fine beaches can get very crowded during high season.
