Some new reductions of the ticketsą fare have been decided by the Greek government in order to encourage the Athenians to use the public means of transport. However, the reduction is useful only for those who use the buses and the metro system, since taxis and intercity buses are getting more expensive. In fact, a new ticket has been introduced, the ticket that costs 80 cents and allows you to change as many public means of transport (blue buses, trolley buses, tram, electric railway and the metro ticket) as you want, within 90 minutes. Moreover, there will be reductions on monthly-issued cards. Nonetheless, there will be an increase on the tickets of KTEL intercity buses and a 5% increase on taxi fares, which will charge you 2,80 euros for the minimum drive.
