The 2nd Silent Film Festival by Michael Cacoyannis Foundation will take place the first two weeks of July (June 30th-July 13th). The Open Air Terrace of the Foundation at the third floor will turn into a summer cinema, hosting films from the European Silent Cinematography. The films have been carefully selected by the director himself, aiming at the aesthetic and artistic value as well as the good quality of the film. In total, 16 films will be screened, filmed between 1917 and 1929. Among the films to be screened is Battleship Potempkin by Sergei Mikhailovitch Eisenstein (1925), the futuristic film Metropolis (1927) by Fritz Lang, Faust (1926) by F.W Murnau, The Outlaw and his Wife by Victor Sjostrom (1918) and The End of Saint Petersburg by Vsevolod Pudovkin (1927). There will be Greek subtitles in the films and some will have their original soundtrack. In case there is no soundtrack, there will be live music by Greek artists. The entrance to all screenings is free. More info at: Michael Cacoyannis Foundation
