The most important monument of Athens is of course the Acropolis. There are several other important ancient sites and monuments. They can be found mainly around the Plaka neighbourhood and in the vicinity of the Acropolis. They include ancient temples, such as the Parthenon and the temple of Olympian Zeus, theaters, such as the Herodes Atticus, and public buildings such as the Agora.

 Many beaches of Athens are situated in the south-east coast, in the district of Glyfada. Sadly, most of them are private, which means there is an entrance fee to enjoy a swim. The district of Marathon, located north-east of the city, also some great and peaceful beaches to offer, as well as the east coast of Athens, near the little port of Rafina, although often really crowded.
