 Day 1Drive the coastal road along the Saronic Gulf to the Corinth Canal, which connects the Aegean with the Ionian Sea (short stop). Visit to Mycenae, the Homeric city of Atreides, where you see the Lion Gate, the Cyclopean Walls, the Royal Tombs, the Archaeological Museum. Lunch in Mycenae. Then depart for Nafplion, a picturesque town with Venetian architecture and the wonderful fortress of Palamidi on top of a hill above (short photo stop). Continue for Epidaurus to visit the marvelous Ancient Theatre (4th century B.C.), famous for the perfect design and acoustics. Return to Athens following the National Road from Epidaurus to Corinth.
