Hilton Area in Athens Greece: The area of Hilton took its name from the famous Hilton Hotel that is located there. This area is only 10 min walk from Syntagma Square and right opposite Evangelismos Metro Station. It has many luxurious hotels, cafeterias, bars and restaurants, while it is in a walking distance from Kolonaki, the most luxurious neighbourhood in central Athens with many restaurants and shops.
The Hilton Area is a short walk from some of the most important ancient sites of Athens, such as Kallimarmaro Roman Stadium, the temple of Zeus, the National Gardens and Zappeion Megaron. Many museums are also located in close distance, such as the War Museum, the Benaki Museum and the National Gallery of Athens, right opposite Athens Hilton Hotel. At the crossroad opposite the hotel, there is the Statue of the "Glass Runner", an impressive work that originally was placed in Omonia Square and then it was transfered there. |
