Hermes of Praxiteles and other famous works. The exhibits belong to many historical periods, from the prehistoric till the modern times.
The museum also houses works of the blind sculptor Petros Roukoutakis. In addition, it has an exhibition dedicated to the Olympic Games and the Paralympics, housed in the ground floor.
The museum includes descriptive signs in Braille and enlarged letters for those who are not completely blind. In addition, there is an automatic tour guide that gives information to the visitors in both Greek and English. Some of the tours are also guided by the manager of the museum, who is blind as well.
Moreover, the Lighthouse for the Blind has a Ceramic and Sculpture Studio, where visually impaired people have the chance to create their artworks, some of which are also displayed on the Tactual museum.
The Tactual Museum can also be visited by sighted people, who are given a mask and are allowed to touch the exhibits, as if they were blind. Therefore, it opens a whole new world of sensations, not only to the visually impaired, but also to the sighted people.
