General information

Kavouri Beach in Athens: The area of Kavouri consists of two shores with a one-kilometer-long distance between them! Both get quite crowded during the summertime, since they are easily accessible from the city center and other key points around Athens, whilst also having lots of available parking space!

Mikro Kavouri

Mikro Kavouri Beach is a small, sand-filled seashore with shallow waters, making it an ideal choice for families with children! It boasts a free, partly organized beach offering a handful of municipally-owned umbrellas and benches, along with lots of pine trees providing shade to sunbathers! Plus, Mikro Kavouri also hosts a well-organized spot with deluxe sunbeds and parasols at a cost.

Megalo Kavouri

The beach of Megalo Kavouri features both well-organized and non-organized seashores along its coastline. The organized spots have lots of sunbed pairs and straw-made sun umbrellas for rent, while the spacious unspoiled beach part has no on-the-beach amenities except a lifeguard tower! Megalo Kavouri’s shallow waters and sandy coast are fantastic for a family visit, plus it also has a few rocky spots to dive from!

    KAVOURI BEACH¨? CERTAINLY NOT !

Kavouri Beach rents beach umbrellas and sunbeds on the beach located in front of the DIVANI Hotel (Mikro Kavouri). It is the only spot in the area that has a clean sea with sand, since the rest are dirty and full of seaweed. The umbrellas are small and do not provide enough shade. Its biggest disadvantage, however, is that it does not provide any safety to its customers. The street where the business is located (Akti Street) attracts a large number of thieves and bums who lurk to grab the swimmers’ stuff (I personally became the victim of one of them). The staff of Kavouri Beach is completely irresponsible and indifferent to the safety of its customers; the only thing that is of interest to them is to collect the money for the sunbeds.

So the question that arises is quite simple: Would you take the big risk of losing your belongings (money, documents, etc.) and become embarrassed or would you prefer another organized beach where they respect their customers?
